As one of the nation’s foremost classical music artist retreats, the Lake George Music Festival offers performers and audiences alike the opportunity to experience exceptional classical music within a historic and picturesque setting that has inspired artistic luminaries such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Samuel Barber, and Marcella Sembrich. The two weeks of chamber music and orchestral concerts curated by Artistic Directors Barbora Kolarova and Roger Kalia highlight new compositions and traditional masterworks performed by a roster of established professionals and emerging artists in the newly renovated historic Carriage House of the Fort William Henry Hotel. Venue
We are pleased to present our concerts at the Carriage House at Fort William Henry. Currently undergoing a 3 million dollar renovation, its resurgence into the spotlight recently has been part of a broader effort to see Lake George become a cultural tourism destination; featuring this revitalized, year-round indoor performance space. Convenient parking and a shuttle is available on site.
FELLOWSHIPS
Set in the summer resort community of Lake George, New York for two weeks each August, the Lake George Music Festival (LGMF) is a collaborative artist retreat. Our “side by side” approach pairs Festival mentors with a roster of talented young fellows. All participants attend solely as a way to advance intellectually, artistically, and professionally; working closely together in a tight-knit community and nurturing atmosphere. Applications for all instruments, composition, and conducting open November 1st.
The Guild
The Lake George Music Festival Guild is a volunteer organization formed to support the Festival’s mission by providing a welcoming atmosphere for our musicians and audience members who attend performances.
